An Abe Lincoln Birthday Party
My wee babe is turning one in mere DAYS and last weekend we celebrated, because one is kind of a big deal. As you probably know, my baby's name is Abraham. With a name like that you can't not have an Abraham Lincoln themed first birthday party!
I took inspiration from pennies and the man himself. My decorations included a hand-painted penny plaque (with my Abe's silhouette!), an Abe Lincoln throw pillow, Abe Lincoln's portrait lined in glittery washi tape, this gorgeous edition of Lincoln's writings, penny confetti, and a hand-painted penny banner. I also made party beards (instead of hats, you know) and an Honestly! Abraham Lincoln shirt for the birthday boy. My Abraham Lincoln cake was made possible by Edible Images.
This was probably the best party I've ever thrown, and for an amazing little man like my Abraham I wouldn't have done any less! The last year has been so fun and crazy and incredible, and I'm so happy that my family got to come in to celebrate. Now here are some pictures :)
He had a great time, but tried to escape with some of his new toys stuffed in his shirt. With all the activity it was easy to slip past everyone. HAHA! We love you, Abraham! <3
